Dr. David Cruickshank

Physician Biography

Dr. Cruickshank was born and raised in Kamloops, BC, and completed a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc.) in Physics at TRU. He then went on to finish a Doctorate of Medicine degree (MD) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. His passion for Orthopaedic Surgery was then furthered by completing a 5-year residency program in Orthopaedics also at UBC and becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 2016. Wishing to pursue subspecialist training, Dr. Cruickshank completed a 1-year Fellowship program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario in complex upper extremity reconstruction. He was in practice as a staff surgeon Queen’s University for a short time before taking a position at Royal Inland Hospital and transitioning back to his home town of Kamloops.

Dr. Cruickshank’s practice includes hip and knee arthroplasty, upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand) reconstruction, and trauma.

Outside of work, Dr. Cruickshank spends most of his time with his wife and two sons and is very active in skiing, mountain biking and fishing.
